Discovering Why I Always Get Lost Going to Eastside Centre

My eyes shut for bed just less than five hours before the alarm rang out. I purposefully set the alarm 10 minutes early, so I could get a snooze and ease into my early morning wakeup call. It was about 5:15 a.m.

I dozed off for a couple more minutes, but the rising sun and birds chirping kept me awake. I wanted to be on the road to East Peoria by 6:30, so I could be at the Eastside Centre by 8:00 a.m.

After my morning coffee at Ayerco I was eastbound. A quick stop in Mapleton for a bottle of water, and I was still making great time to hit the Eastside Centre. Driving through downtown Peoria shortly before 8:00 a.m. I encountered plenty of traffic and it took 17 minutes from downtown, to pull into the Eastside Centre.

Having just been to the Eastside Centre a little over a week ago (and getting lost that time...again), I realized why I got lost, and continue to get lost after a brief time away from the diamonds. The exit is marked perfectly on the I-74 bridge to take the exit. However, at the next exit, the sign reads I-74 to the right, but the Eastside Sports Complex arrows directs you straight ahead. Last week, I went straight ahead, and there were no more signs for Eastside. In addition, once you take the right (where it directs you to I-74), there is not a sign that tells you to turn left. I will credit the city, there are plenty of signs further down with the right directions.

Game Blogs will come later, along with live updates.
